Basic Info
Name:Marcus FitzGarland
Bio
This is a fictional journal for the game [info]true_sons and thus any apparent insanity on the part of the user is purely that of the character. The user is much worse.

Marcus is a slight young man with white/blond hair and pale grey eyes, giving him a wraith-like appearance. He tends to dress in grey, silver, and light sea colours, accentuating his almost ethereal look. A quiet, introspective lad at times, a overly curious pest and tearaway at others. Marcus has the habit of getting himself into quite extraordinary trouble, a habit that is almost as legendary as his near miraculous ability to get out of such scrapes.

Why the King acknowledged Marcus is considered something of a mystery, he certainly had no need for another heir and the act of acknowledging the boy could have caused far more trouble than it did. It is widely considered that it was a simple sentimental act on the king’s part, given that the boy’s mother died during childbirth. Most believe that there is no chance of Marcus inheriting the throne, a view Marcus apparently shares, caring little for power over nations and more for investigation, knowledge and enjoyment.

Marcus’s illegitimate birth has had one upside, he is considered more of a man of the people than his siblings by the Kings soldiers. His bastard birth, his tomfoolery, his pestering of the guards and soldiers for stories, combined with his easygoing and pleasant manner and natural good fortune have made him something of a lucky mascot to the King’s army, giving the boy a literal army of uncles and big brothers.

Marcus is easy going and apparently apolitical, a likeable lad who’s only particularly bad habit is a serious lack of caution that often leads him, and by extension some of his siblings, into trouble. Most siblings have sworn never to help him out of such problems again, but the sight of their little brothers pale eyes and innocent expression have often moved them to forget such oaths.

Marcus is indiscriminate in his curiosity, often as excited by finding a bird’s nest on the grounds as seeing the army march or a strange, foreign visitor.

A number of soldiers, guardsmen, instructors and teachers have tried to take young Marcus in hand and direct his energies, mostly to no avail. Marcus has developed some skill with blade and bow, rides like a madman, has studied history (for the battles), geography (for the exotic places), and some of the sciences (for the strange creatures). It is thought that Marcus could become a useful diplomat and aide to his farther (whom the boy dotes on) and whatever sibling inherits, due to his Godmothers Gift.

While there is no doubt that Marcus is a flighty boy it is a mistake to think him irresponsible or spineless, simply easily bored and distracted. He can be a touch sarcastic on occasion and has a tendency to play the fool to get what he wants.

Marcus's Symbol is a white hawk on a black background.
